Metković

Metković is a town on the banks of the Neretva River, located in the south of Croatia, right next to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located in a valley known for the cultivation of tangerines and for the beautiful delta of the Neretva River.

Ušće Beach

Ušće Beach is a natural sandy beach located at the mouth of the Neretva River, approximately 20 minutes’s drive from Metković. The sea is shallow and the beach is not crowded. In the afternoon, the wind blows quite a bit and the beach becomes a real surfer's paradise.

The Archaeological Museum of Narona

The Archaeological Museum of Narona is located in the town of Vid, a few minutes' drive from the town of Metković. It's built over the remains of a Roman temple Augusteum and contains well-preserved ancient statues and mosaics.

Natural History Museum Metković

It was founded in 1948, and has been operating at this location since 2015. The museum displays the abundance of flora and fauna of the Neretva River Valley, specifically a collection of birds and other animals specific to this region.

Boat ride

One of the more popular activities is the so-called photo safari, where visitors ride traditional Neretva boats along the Neretva River and enjoy the beautiful scenery during all seasons. You can also combine that trip with picking widely famous Neretva Valley mandarins in September.
